Fun at Raptor Reef!!

Today Harry and I hit the waterpark! There's an indoor waterpark in Coeur D'alene, so Harry and I met up with his friends Thomas and Joshua and their parents for a day in the warm water. We dropped Ems off with Daddy for the morning and headed off.... Harry insisted on wearing his sunglasses the whole car ride. Not sure why?
Harry at the wave pool. You had to be 3 to go in here, so he was instructed to "not cross that line!" He actually did a pretty good job. :)
Playing on the stairs at the kids section. Right above his head is a water bucket that periodically drops a bucket of water about every 30 seconds. He kept yelling, "Yay, Water!" everytime it would dump.
At the bottom of his favorite slide. I had to do it with him a few times, but then he was rushing up and down by himself.
Coming down in a BIG splash!!!

My little Dirtballs!

So, after the wonderful picnic we had yesterday, we decided to bbq in the backyard. Jay put burgers on the grill and we just soaked up the sunshine. We let the kids play outside as long as they wanted, which turned out to be right up until almost bedtime. They decided to take advantage of this freedom by making themselves as "yunky" (Harry's new word!) as possible. WOW, did they do a good job!! Harry discovered that his dump truck hauls dirt. Not rocket science, I know, but he's been content until now to simply push it around. Not anymore!! This picture is of him carrying the dirt across the backyard in his little shovel. He did finally figure out that it was easier to bring the truck to the dirt instead of the dirt to the truck!
Harry and Daddy shoveling dirt. We have these random dirt piles across our backyard? I think we might have moles or gophers?
My little nakey boy. He was so excited to run around naked. You'll see why he was neglected in a minute when you see what his Daddy did to his sister.......

Emma being pretty in her Dowa hat. She spit up ALL over herself while we were eating dinner. I tried to wipe it off, and then she got out of control, so we just let it go. :P She thought it was hilarious! And then she had a bath.... So after her bath, Daddy took her into her room to lotion-up and get jammies on. She came out looking like this!Jay accidentally used the wrong brush (I use a specific one to comb oil into her scalp for cradle cap) to brush her hair after her bath. Needless to say, it stood up completely straight and crazy-looking and will not come down. Even this afternoon, it's still out at an angle. Nice!

Emma's First Picnic!

Emma went to her very first picnic today. It got into the 70's today, so we decided to take advantage and go to the park in Medical Lake that we love. We met our friends, the Holbrooks, there too. We had a great time! :) Emma loves being out in the sunshine and Harry loves to be outside doing just about anything!
My beautiful family. :)
Emma and Susy

Harry figured out how to climb the "wall" at the park today. I've been trying to keep him off it, but he did really well and is SO proud of himself when he gets up there. He says the Dora, "I did it!" when he does it. :)

Harry and Daddy

Harry saw a bald eagle today and identified it himself!! Yay for Zaboomafoo!! (It's a show on PBS that he watches- he also knows kapibarra and lots of other animals, too!)Harry wiped out trying to pick flowers for Daddy and Emma.

He thought the purple ones were the prettiest!

Spring has Arrived!!

It was SUCH a beautiful day today, we spent all afternoon at the park across the street. There were tons of kids and families there taking advantage of the wonderful weather. It seems like we've had snow forever, it reminds me of home in MN.... ! :) And then spring snuck right up on us today.

Harry was trying to get Emma to slide with him. He kept saying, "C'mere Emma, do this!"

Emma was SO excited to be outside!

Harry can swing by his arms on the bars!! I didn't know he could do that until he yelled at me to, "Look at ME!!"

Emma passed out cold when we got home, she didn't even get her little hat off. :)

Busy Days!

Wow! What a crazy couple of days we've had. It seems like we've been running around town doing errands and playdates and everything else you could think of. At the mall play area with Susy.
Harry riding the motorcycle-bike at the mall.
I finally had to cut Emma's hair. It's starting to lay down a lot more and I realized that it's already past her nose in the front! I wasn't sure she needed bangs yet, but it was my only option. Now she's my little mop-top!
Harry was painting the other morning in his pajama shirt. I just love how little his legs look here! A far cry from those chunkers he used to have!
This is Harry and Mommy doing seed-matching at school this week. We started our unit on Farm Animals and there is one very excited little boy at our house!!!

Date Night!!!

Yes, Jay and I finally went out on a date. I think it's our first official, non-obligated, night out together since before Emma was born. :) Our friends Dan and Amber (also known as Thomas and Joshua's parents) courageously offered to watch our little monkeys for us, and we accepted in a heartbeat!! We went to Luigi's, a wonderful little Italian place downtown, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you again to the Domrese's for babysitting!! We owe you guys BIG time!!

As you can tell, the kids had a great time and I doubt even noticed that we were gone! :)

March is over....

Well, April is finally here. Emma will be 6 months old next week, I can hardly believe it! It seems like Harry's first 6 months took MUCH longer, but Emma's has just flown. Once she got over her miserable colic and the worst spit-up-itis I have EVER seen (well, she's mostly over it!), she's become such a little sweet potato. She absolutely adores her brother, she's actually getting ready to crawl simply because he sits across the room from her! She gets her little butt in the air and then up on her arms and then can't figure out what to do from there, but she can get a few feet away from her starting point simply from wiggling. Part of me is really excited that she can move and part of me is totally dreading it.
I played an April Fools joke on Jay yesterday, I sent him a text message saying, "I'm pregnant!" and then led him to believe it for a whole 5 minutes. I thought it was pretty funny being that I obviously wouldn't tell him that I was preggo in a text message, but he was pretty furious!! I felt bad, but he's over it now and, of course, relieved that I'm NOT pregnant! I sent one to Katie too, but she was much less mad than Jay. Although, pretty disappointed that we're not expecting. Sorry, Kates!

Okay, that's the last Easter picture, I promise!!! And yes, Harry IS mad, but not about the bunny- he loved the bunny, he just didn't want his picture taken. It was right after we'd had our pictures done at the studio, and he was pretty frustrated with me!
This is Ems getting ready to crawl. Don't you just love her little unicorn horn?
Harry got an easel and LOVES to paint. However, again, he did NOT want his picture taken!
But, I was allowed to take a picture of his picture. Isn't it beautiful??? :)
This is Emma's new face. She sucks in her bottom lip and goes, "MMMMMMM." I"m hoping it's going to lead to "mama," since Harry said "da-da-ya-ya" at least 8 months before he even came close to "mama."

And this is my doodle-bop again in her jumper. I just love how bright her little eyes get when she's happy. Her hair is starting to lay down, at least on top. The back is still crazy though, even with the bald stripe in the back that babies get from sleeping on their backs. It's been quite a challenge to style since it's too long to let go loose anymore, but not long enough all-over to do pigtails or anything. ;)
