Happy Halloween!

Just going to do photo highlights tonight, I'm too beat to do any serious typing! The kids had a BLAST today. Emma finally got the hang of the trick or treating thing, but repeatedly told everybody "Happy Birfday HollyWEEN!" She's still getting her holidays straight, apparently... :)

Emma headed up to a house... she did great and REFUSED to let me help her with her bucket!

Harry and Anna headed out!

Their lanterns made a super cool effect once it got dark!

They each got a few pieces while we were handing out candy when we got home! :)

First Halloween Party and a Hockey Game!

We had Jay's squadron Halloween party on Friday afternoon. The kids all dressed up and visited each office for trick or treating. It was loads of fun, but some of the guys overestimated the kids and got really really scary. Emma was not impressed with the fog machine, and after somebody jumped out and grabbed at Jay wearing a ghoulish mask, she was absolutely DONE. We took her into the main area where we had the potluck and gave her a few pieces of candy, and she forgot all about it!

Last night was Military Appreciation night at the Spokane Chief's game. We normally can't stand these games, so much more of a fight league than an actual hockey team, it drives me nuts to go and have the only cheering happening for fights. It makes me REALLY REALLY miss the great hockey we used to see in Grand Forks. However, we were bored and the kids don't know the difference, so we all suited up and headed out. The kids both wore their Bronco jerseys from Ga-ga John. Emma thought this was the best thing EVER. She ran around yelling "boo-yah Broncos!!" before we left the house.
When we got to the game, they were handing out 'cheer sticks,' which in reality, are blow up bats. The kids (and Jay!) had a great time bashing each other around during intermissions. The poor guys in front of us also took quite a beating, but they'd had a few beers and when Emma does her giggle, its really hard to be mad at her!
We ended up leaving just as the 3rd period started. Harry tripped somehow and smashed his chin into the upturned edge of the chair he was sitting in and bloodied up his chin pretty badly. Every time that kid has worn a hockey jersey, he's gotten blood on it. Not sure if that's good or bad luck!! No permanent damage, and it was after 9 already anyways, so we headed out. Good times had by all, despite the crappy hockey.

Dentist, parties, and Munkins

Emma had her first dentist appointment on Weds. She did awesome! She loved getting to sit on the stool by Harry and "help" clean his teeth.

She also clearly loved her sunglasses! LOL

Harry had his school pictures yesterday. He picked this outfit out for our Christmas pictures and insists that it's his "business guy clothes." He also insisted on wearing it for pictures. Who am I to argue??!! :)

Kids at a Chuck E Cheese birthday party. I have to admit watching Amber watch the Chuck E People clean and organize and wrangle the kids, its mighty tempting to have Harry's there! He's been asking for a "race track birthday," but I'm not exactly sure how I"m going to do that in December??!!

We carved our "munkins" the other night. It was.... interesting??
Harry dug in. WITH a spoon. This went well for a few minutes.
Until the goop actually touched him. Then Daddy added to the situation by rubbing pumpkin goop on his tummy. As you can see, this simply enraged him. NOT a pretty sight!!

Emma, on the other hand, dug so far in, we thought she was going to fall in! LOL, she's our tomboy, I guess!!

The finished products- note the flame eyes and the kitty.

More Fall Fun!

We spent a wonderful few days outside this weekend. We hit up the Finch (again!) on Friday hoping to find their leaf pile (apparently its going to be another week or two :( ), but got some cute pictures of Emma and Anna. Harry refused to cooperate, he's quite a stubborn crabapple the last week or so again. Better behaviour, just poor attitude, I guess.
Also, I really enjoyed these pictures from 1 year ago this week... :)

We also did Greenbluff and got our "munkins." We carved them up tonight, and I did take pictures, but I still want to get some better ones of the "final product" tomorrow morning, so you'll just have to be patient for those!!

he loved driving the tractors!!!

Harry got a squash/gourd and was THRILLED

Jaybird

Mems trucking along....

Grumpiest kid on the planet!

biggest leaf EVER!!! (he looks like he has 3 heads, but its really just Anna standing directly behind him!! LOL)

Emma cannot get over the fact that she can't pee on a tree. Poor girl... gonna be a long time waiting!! LOL
